The doll industries highest award, The Crystal Award will be presented to Jack Johnston at the annual Doll and Teddy Bear EXPO East – Jack Johnston has been chosen as the recipient of the “Crystal Award for Industry Leadership” by Jones Publishing. Industry leaders and collectors will honor Jack for his outstanding role in promoting and representing the doll industry at the annual Doll and Teddy Bear EXPO on August 9th at 7:30 p.m. in Washington DC. Collectors and Artists are invited to register for this event at www.jonespublication.com.
Only two other artists have ever been given this award. Marie Osmond received the first Crystal Award in 2006, with Robert Tonner receiving the award in 2007.
The Professional Doll Makers Art Guild will reserve two tables at the awards banquet for the artists that are showing at the EXPO show. If you wish to have a seat reserved for you at the banquet you may call Karen Robertson at 585-329-9999 or write her at whtadoll@rochester.rr.com. The Guild will pay for the banquet tickets for the Artists showing in the booth. If you wish to bring a guest or a spouse you may pay Karen for your guest. The price has not been established for the banquet yet, but will be announced soon. All Guild members are welcomed to attend the show and join Jack and their fellow artists at the banquet. We can reserve as many tables as we need. The Dolls Award of Excellence will be presented at the same banquet along with the Crystal Award. This is a once in a life time honor for Jack, so it would be wonderful if we can show up as his fellow artists.
